Today Markham deployed an army of traffic counters, and one was spotted studying our AG Blvd intersection.

Here is an excerpt from an email from the Town of Markham with an update on the traffic signals. Not traffic signals at this time.
“York Region has completed their signal warrant analysis at the subject intersection. They have concluded that signals are not warranted at
this time.
However, they estimate that this intersection is 3 to 5 years away from warranting traffic signals. Regional staff will continue to review this intersection as part of their annual traffic counting program and schedule the intersection for traffic signals once the intersection satisfies the Region’s traffic signal policy.”

The roads and streetlights are covered by York Region as Kennedy is a Regional Road. York Region has informed the Town that there are no current plans for traffic signals at this intersection.
They are conducting a traffic signal warrant analysis to determine if a traffic signal are needed. We will be notified by our Councillor Dan Horchik, before any decisions are made by the Region.
